I tried cleaning out the laptop's 3.5 mm jack and the headphone jack with a cue tip and alcohol. If I touch the metal headphone plug/jack with my finger while plugged in, the buzzing completely goes awayġ0.
If I cup my hand around the headphone plug/jack without touching it, the buzzing completely goes away or is very quietĩ. If I set my laptop on my lap, the buzzing goes awayĨ. If I move far way from my laptop with my headphones on, the buzzing gets more intenseħ. I moved every device, cord, and anything electrical away from the laptop, but the buzzing persistedĦ. I unplugged everything from the laptop, but the buzzing sound persistedĥ. I took apart the laptop and disconnected the battery and put it back in. When I plug in a pair of my sony mdrv6 headphones, the buzzing noise is not producedģ.
The buzzing sound only happens when my headphones are connected to my laptop and not when connected to my phoneĢ. I've tried a few things to try to narrow down the problem, which I will list below.ġ.
I also just uninstalled realtek audio drivers, but that didn't work either. I just noticed that just recently, a nvidia driver update installed 'nvidia HD audio driver' onto my computer, but after uninstalling it, the buzzing noise is still there. For some reason my headphones (audio technica m30x) started to randomly start producing a loud buzzing noise whenever plugged into my Acer Nitro 5 laptop.
